• Lisburn Half Marathon incorporating NI Championship - Wednesday 21st June 2017

    A hot and sticky evening made a tough event even more difficult for the band of Willowfield athletes tackling this one. However physical resolve and mental stamina brought rich rewards for Willowfield.

    The men’s team kept up their fine recent record in the championship by bringing home the Bronze medals. Meanwhile the ladies made history for the club. Lead home by Amy (3rd individual lady) the girls brought home the Silver medal.

    In the 10K race which had a field just short of 2000 runners Willowfield had a further five athletes running. Paul Rowan ran an excellent 7th overall and took the M50 category prize.

    It was good to see Greg Lucy racing again and he was joined by Stephen Smartt and David Stevenson. Joanne McGivern was our sole lady athlete in the 10K
